Another two lawyers join Clarion’s private client team
Kanika Sohpal and Alice Leslie are the latest lawyers to join Clarion’s expanding private client practice in Leeds.
Kanika takes up the position of legal director with Clarion having spent 13 years in the private client team at Armitage Sykes and another year with Schofield Sweeney following its merger with the firm.
A member of STEP (the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners), Kanika has particular expertise in dealing with complex cases and high net worth individuals. Her experience includes advising on a wide range of matters including estate planning; inheritance tax mitigation; the creation and administration of trusts; powers of attorney and the administration of estates, including those with foreign property.
Clarion has also appointed Alice Leslie as an associate solicitor in the private client team. She joins from Gordons LLP where she spent two years working in the private client practice after completing her training contract with the firm.
In her new role, Alice will assist in drafting Wills, dealing with the drafting, registration and administration of Lasting Powers of Attorney, and assisting with advising high net worth individuals about their Wills and estate planning. Alice also works on the administration of estates and Court of Protection matters.
Viv Wild, partner and head of Clarion’s private client practice, commented: “With our reputation for providing expert advice on both business and personal wealth protection and estate planning, demand for our integrated services is continuing to grow.
“Kanika and Alice have a strong track record in private client work and will be a welcome boost to the team. Both lawyers share our client-focussed approach, recognising the need for sensitivity when dealing with complex and sometimes emotional matters.”
Kanika adds: “As part of the Clarion team, I will be able to use my technical knowledge as well as my passion for my work and commitment to providing a first class service. I pride myself on building strong relationships so that clients and their families trust me to provide the best possible advice in their particular circumstances.”
Alice said: “I really enjoy the challenges of working in the private client field, assisting clients at what is often a difficult time in their lives. Being part of the Clarion team will be a great opportunity for me to continue to learn.”
