  • Autohorn revealed as fastest growing business in Yorkshire

York based fleet management company, Autohorn, have been announced as Yorkshire’s fastest growing business in 2018, based on figures compiled by Insider of average percentage gain in turnover for the past five years.  The business now employs 65 members of staff with a fleet of 2000 cars and a turnover of £23.4 million having started in 1995 as a team of five and a fleet of nine cars.

The recent period of accelerated growth has been achieved as a result of an organisational reshuffle and restructuring of their marketing activities. The business also cites their heavy investment and innovative approach to digital marketing though their websites flexed.co.uk and clearcarleasing.co.uk as a key reason for success.

Product innovation has also been at the heart of the business having identified a need for flexible, short term leasing. Unlike traditional car leasing companies, Autohorn offers their customers the opportunity to enjoy a range of flexible options across a wide range of cars without a long-term contract.

Speaking of Autohorn’s rapid growth, Scott Jenkins, sales and operations director, said: “We are always looking for new ways to innovate and become more efficient and our recent restructuring has certainly made a big impact on our capacity for growth. Our flexible, short term leasing options cater for a gap in the market which, with an uncertain economy, enable our customers to have the flexibility that they desire. We are now looking to build on this growth with exciting and ambitious plans for the future.”

The business has plans for further growth with a move to a new head office at Clifton Moor, Wigginton Road, York scheduled to begin next year. The business anticipate that the move will allow them to create an additional 65 full time jobs by 2020 as well as indirectly creating 136 jobs in the local economy by generating wider economic activity.

Autohorn specialises in fleet management for companies that run fleets of vehicles and personal leasing for private individuals. Its services include vehicle hire, vehicle leasing, flexible leasing, fuel management, driver training and accident management which it offers throughout the UK.  It also offers vehicle rental from its Europcar franchise which is based at York Railway Station. It has ‘Go Ultra Low Company’ status and aims to have more than 100 electric rental vehicles operating in York by 2020.
