Barclays and Chamber of Commerce Partner to Support Scale Up Businesses
Barclays and West and North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce have today announced they are partnering to hold an event to support Scale Up businesses.
The event, which will be held at The Queens’s Hotel, City Square, Leeds, is on Thursday 22nd February at 6 pm.
Guests will hear from some fantastic regional entrepreneurs who have all taken their ideas through to activation and grown their businesses substantially year on year. The event aims to provide practical insights and suggestions of what is needed to address the challenges start-ups face.
Caroline Pullich, Barclays Head of SMEs for Yorkshire, said: ‘We know first-hand many of the issues that entrepreneurs face on a day to day basis. We also know how important they are to our economy, and that by helping them achieve their ambitions, we can, in turn, drive innovation, jobs and wealth creation and strengthen our Yorkshire economy to the benefit of society.”
Guest speakers include Doug McLean, founder of Tiffin Sandwiches and recent winners of the Barclays Entrepreneur Awards 2017, taking home the national award for Scale-Up Entrepreneur of the Year. Tiffin Sandwiches, which started out with one shop in Bradford in 2000, now supplies a host of top universities, hospitals, every Ikea store in the country and has a turnover of £17million and over 300 employees.
