  • B&M appoints Yorkshire law firm Gordons for defendant personal injury services

Leading variety retailer B&M has appointed Yorkshire law firm Gordons to handle its nationwide defendant personal injury (PI) brief as the business continues to grow.

B&M has been a Gordons client for the past 15 years. During that time the firm has sourced and secured more than 500 B&M stores, as well as advising on various other matters.

Gordons’ defendant PI experts will provide B&M with counsel across all aspects of employer and public liability whilst also delivering a comprehensive claims handling and risk mitigation service.

Commenting on Gordons’ appointment, B&M chief executive, Simon Arora, said: “Gordons is a law firm that knows retail. They have played an important role in our growth to date and will continue to do so.”

Earlier this year, B&M posted a 25.4 per cent increase in pre-tax profit to £229.3m, with revenue growing by 22.4 per cent to £3bn.

Gordons managing partner, Paul Ayre, said: “We are proud to be part of B&M’s continued success story. This latest appointment is testament to the fact that we are able to think and act in line with the most dynamic of retailers.”

The firm’s retail sector clients also include AO World, Charles Tyrwhitt, Glen Dimplex, Iceland Foods, Morrisons, Moss Bros, Nisa, The Original Factory Shop, Pavers, Pep & Co and Wren Kitchens.

Gordons employs 200 people in total, split evenly between its Leeds and Bradford offices. For further information visit www.gordonsllp.com
