Bradford accountants extend support to Marie Curie charity sports lunch
Members of staff from forward-thinking Bradford accountancy firm Watson Buckle recently attended a charity sports lunch in aid of Marie Curie Bradford Hospice.
Now in its eighth year running, the popular event – which took place on Friday 15 September at the Midland Hotel in Bradford – featured a number of noteworthy guest speakers this year.
Five members of the Watson Buckle team attended, including Director Chris Padgett, Corporate Services Managers Selina Bocskei, Andrew Padgett and Gillian Craven, and Business Services Manager Danielle Vollentine.
The Watson Buckle team also brought along four guests, including Glyn Charles of YTM Group Limited, Lynne-Marie Stephenson of RBS Invoice Finance, Jonathan Hollowood of T L Dallas Group, Keith Hardington of Walker Foster Solicitors and Tom Smith of NatWest Bank in Bradford.
Guests had the opportunity to hear a unique an inspirational speech delivered by West Yorkshire’s own iconic English professional rugby league footballer Jamie Peacock MBE.
Jamie’s speech was then followed by light entertainment and stand-up comedy from sports broadcaster and comedian Paul Boardman.
Speaking after the event, Selina Bocskei, Corporate Services Manager at Watson Buckle, said: “Fun and fundraising really came together at this year’s Marie Curie sports lunch, which was an excellent opportunity for us all to take a quick and well-deserved break from the office in the name of a good cause.
“All of us who attended had a fantastic time and the Watson Buckle team will certainly look forward to supporting the event again this time next year.”
