Bulls v Rhinos returns to Bradford’s Odsal Stadium
The Bradford Bulls are set to play against Leeds Rhinos for the upcoming big Challenge Cup derby game in the local Bradford Odsal Stadium.
The news follows after the Bulls secured a win against Featherstone, sealing the win with a last second drop-goal.
The match has developed interest from the BBC, with the game chosen for televising on BBC One at 2.30pm on Saturday 11 May – prime time for a captive sports audience who have no Premier League to keep tabs on until the Sunday.
Conservative estimates suggest there will be a TV audience of over 2 million.
Paul Mitchell, former Sponsorship Manager for Provident Financial and newly appointed as Bradford Bulls’ Head of Commercial & Community Development, has commented on their upcoming game:
“I’ve been in post at Bradford Bulls for two months, and what a start! Some thrilling come back wins in the BetFred Championship and an absolute classic cup match against Featherstone, Bulls sealing the win with a last second drop-goal. Then came the draw for the sixth round of the Challenge Cup. And what a draw!
“It’s been five years since a Bradford versus Leeds game was played at Odsal, over 16 years since we hosted a game against the men from Headingley in the sport’s premier cup competition.
“The first two balls drawn matched the old adversaries and delivered the return of arguably the biggest rivalry in Rugby League (the debate has begun again on social media!) with some of the razzmatazz that we had back in the Bulls’ heyday. It has whetted the appetite of the fans of both clubs, and indeed enthusiasts of the sport across the country and beyond. ”
The upcoming match is a great opportunity for local, regional and national businesses to tick multiple boxes.
Among the opportunities includes: hospitality to entertain clients and meet potential new clients from Bradford, Leeds and beyond; group deal tickets for staff to have a team day out; and superb brand exposure through pitch-side advertising and match sponsorship opportunities.
Pitch-side advertising starts from £500 + VAT; hospitality from as little as £50 per head; tickets from £15 for adults, £5 for kids.
