Concrete admixture specialist Oscrete outperforms expectations at end of first quarter

Bradford-based concrete admixture specialist Oscrete fills two key regional roles following a successful start to the year.

Having produced outstanding results for the last six consecutive years, Oscrete, the construction chemicals division of Christeyns UK, looks set for another positive year as sales of admixture for concrete and performance additives outperformed expectation and finished 8% ahead of target.

The appointment of two regional sales managers will allow the firm to better serve its client base and provide a stronger platform for continued growth and the achievement of ambitious business goals.

James Spencer, from Essex, takes on the role of Technical Sales Manager, South East.  James has over 14 years experience in the B2B sales sector, with specific expertise in screed and industrial chemicals.  Oscrete manufactures a comprehensive range of high performance concrete admixture for the pre-cast and ready-mix markets and James’ territorial and industry knowledge will be a great asset.

Josef Evans joins Oscrete as Sales Manager for South West England and will be focusing on developing new business opportunities across his area. Josef, a keen rugby player from South Wales has a MA in International Business Communications and experience in the construction materials sector, specifically sands and aggregates.

“There are exciting times ahead at Oscrete and we are delighted to have two new managers on board to help shape the company’s future development and growth,” commented National Sales Manager, Mark Till.  “These two new appointments will expand our technical reach in the Southern region of the UK.”

In addition to personnel, the firm has also invested in new product development, looking to launch new product to market in summer of this year.  This follows the introduction in 2017 of Alphaflow 620, a super-plasticising admixture for concrete.

Oscrete has also had great success with its range of cementitious bedding compounds for the precast concrete erection industry, Renocem BM, as well as its combined water-repellent and compaction aid for dry concrete mixes, Colourplas HD20.

With Scott Wilson as the new Operations Director and a bolstered national sales team, business is set to grow further this year, in both Ireland and the UK.  2018 will also see further new appointments, along with investment in facilities at the company’s headquarters in Bradford and the introduction of a new staff training programme.

Oscrete’s range of quality, innovative products makes it one of the UK’s leading specialist construction chemical suppliers, providing high value technical solutions for clients across the concrete industry.
