New appointments strengthen Oscrete team

Bradford-based concrete admixtures specialist Oscrete has appointed three new team members as business continues to flourish.

Admixtures expert Neil Dowie has accepted the post of Regional Sales Manager South and joined the Oscrete team at the end of May.

Neil is a qualified Chemist and member of the Institute of Concrete Technology. Previous roles as National Admixtures Manager and Dry Silo Mortar Manager with Cemex has led to his broad experience in developing and implementing sales strategies across a range of markets.

Prior to this Neil held managerial posts with RMC and is also a past Chairman for EFCA, European Federation of Concrete Admixtures.

Also joining the Southern Region sales team is Craig Barwell who takes up the role of Technical Sales Manager this month.  Craig is qualified in Concrete Technology and has been working as a Performance Product Supervisor with Breedon and Hope Construction for the past five years.

And in the Oscrete lab Stephen Appleyard joins as Concrete Technologist.  Stephen holds qualifications in Concrete Technology and an HND in Building Studies. He has been working as a Concrete Technical Manager: Special Projects with Amber Precast and also held posts with Breedon and Tarmac.

“It’s an exciting time for Oscrete as we welcome a number of new colleagues with a raft of industry experience on board to strengthen our commercial and technical teams,“ states Oscrete Operations Director, Scott Wilson.  “There is a rising demand for concrete additives and we intend to be fully prepared to play a significant role in this market growth.”

In addition, Karen Burke, Territory Manager for Scotland and the North, will assume the role of Acting Regional Sales Manager North from June onwards.  Her 18 years of industry experience and recent tenure as Chair of the Concrete Society (Scotland) will strengthen the Oscrete Management Team and help the Concrete sales channel achieve its growth ambitions.  Karen will continue with her existing responsibilities in Scotland and North East while taking on this additional responsibility of acting line manager covering Yorkshire and North West sales territories.
