  • Senior appointment further strengthens Esh Civils in Yorkshire

Esh Civils continues to grow its senior team by welcoming Simon Stanley to head up its business development activity in the Yorkshire & The Humber region.

A former Director of award-winning engineering and environmental consultancy group, BWB Consulting, where he spent the last 16 years, Stanley joins the Civil Engineering delivery arm of Esh Construction at its regional office in Leeds. His appointment reaffirms Esh’s commitment to the region, and he will help the firm develop its broad portfolio, working public and private sector clients.

Ross Markwell, Esh Civil’s Head of Business Development, said of the appointment: “Simon is well-respected in the industry and in the region and brings with him a wealth of knowledge and contacts. His appointment signifies our seriousness about securing deals in Yorkshire and will cement our positive future in the region.”

Steve Conn, Esh Civils’ Divisional Director, added: “Simon will be an integral part in continuing our high standards across our projects and we have full confidence in his ability and ambition to drive us forward in the region. He has been involved in a number of major projects and we welcome his vast experience into our business.”

Stanley, who now lives in East Yorkshire, has helped to oversee the design and delivery of over £500M worth of completed schemes for Blue Chip companies such as Henry Boot Developments. This included Markham Vale Chesterfield, Capitol Park Thorne, Trinity Walk Wakefield and he recently led the BWB bid team to success in winning a major Highways England Framework. He will continue to grow the Esh’s regional presence in the private sector, while also developing and growing public sector opportunities, particularly through the YORcivils framework.

Stanley added: “Esh is a big name in the construction industry in the North East with a superb reputation for delivering projects of the highest standard. The chance to help them grow in Yorkshire was very attractive and it’s something I’m looking forward to being a part of. We have a structured plan in place to increase the civils turnover to £25 million over the next three years, taking group regional turnover past £100M, and I’m confident we will do so.”
