  • Two Christeyns managers nominated for Women in Business Awards

The Finance Director and HR Manager of laundry chemicals manufacturer Christeyns, have both been shortlisted for the Yorkshire Women in Business Awards.

Julie Roberts, who joined Bradford-based Christeyns in 2006 originally as Financial Accountant, is in the running to win the award for the Woman of the Year Medium Business category whilst HR Manager Sarah Dufton has been shortlisted for the Rising Star award.

Barclays Celebrating Women in Business Awards, now in its third year, aims to recognise successful women and businesses who have excelled in their specific business, profession or organisation. The essence of the awards is to discover and reward exceptional women who, through leadership, entrepreneurialism, and mentoring skills stand out from their colleagues.

Julie has played a key role in the continued growth and success of Christeyns, becoming Finance Director in 2013 and guiding the company through the acquisition of several external businesses that have joined the Christeyns group in the past several years.  During her time at Christeyns the firm has seen a growth in turnover from £21m in 2010 to circa £50m in 2016.

Despite her young age, Sarah Dufton, who joined Christeyns in Spring 2015 has had a pronounced impact on employees and their experiences at work, providing direction and a sense of security for all. She now handles HR for all companies under the Christeyns UK umbrella, which totals over 250 staff members.  Sarah has introduced many new policies and is currently working on the new Talent Academy initiative.

All award finalists will be invited to the exclusive presentation lunch on Friday, 23 June 2017 to be held at Bowcliffe Hall, near Wetherby.
