  • Watson Buckle unveils its 2018 Charity of the Year

Prominent West Yorkshire accountancy firm Watson Buckle has announced that Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice in Oxenhope will be its Charity of the Year for 2018.

The forward-thinking firm, based in Bradford, has previously supported both Manorlands Hospice and Sue Ryder on several occasions.

Selina Armitage, Corporate Services Manager at Watson Buckle, has been particularly active in supporting the charity. Last year, she helped to raise £41,000 for Manorlands by taking part in a charity challenge day at The Coniston Hotel Country Estate and Spa in Skipton.

Previously, she has also raised money for the hospice by running the Keighley Big 10K in the charity’s name back in 2016.

Going into the New Year, the whole team at Watson Buckle will be supporting Manorlands through a number of exciting new fundraising initiatives.

Members of staff are hoping to participate in upcoming sporting events in a bid to raise money for the charity. The team will also be organising a series of coffee mornings, dress-down days and other fundraising events over the course of the year.

Susan Sedgwick, Managing Director at Watson Buckle, said: “I am delighted to announce Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice as our Charity of the Year for 2018.

“The team are immensely proud to be helping this wonderful charity, which provides much-needed support to people with life-limiting illnesses all across the region.”

Selina Armitage added: “Sue Ryder is a charity which is very close to my heart and I am looking forward to getting involved with more fundraising activities for Manorlands over the course of 2018.”
