West Yorkshire Trading Standards lending a helping hand to Food Producers

Working with businesses across the county, West Yorkshire Trading Standards are aware that businesses can sometimes struggle to interpret the complex web of domestic legislation and European directives and regulations that govern the food labelling landscape. Plus, there can sometimes be issues over marketing claims, particularly those that relate to nutrition and health.

Unfortunately, if a business doesn’t have the right skillset or confidence when it comes to food labelling or marketing claims, then they are potentially putting their business at risk.

To help food producers of all sizes manage compliance to the Food Information (England) Regulations 2014, West Yorkshire Trading Standards have scheduled a number of training workshops.  This full day course covers the main food labelling requirements, including:

  • Name of food
  • Ingredients
  • QUID (Quantitative Ingredients Declaration)
  • Allergens
  • Net quantity
  • Duration dates
  • Storage condition and essential on-pack information
