York Chamber of Commerce President announces chosen charity
York & North Yorkshire’s newly elected president; Managing Director of Minster FM Bridget Davies has selected the charity the Chamber will support throughout her presidential tenure.
Bridget has nominated long standing charity York Against Cancer as the charity that will be supported by the Chamber.
The charity provides practical help and advice for patients and their families living with Cancer in York and North Yorkshire, and they fund vital research and education to prevent and one day cure the disease.
Supported by individuals, groups, schools, organisations and businesses York against Cancer has raised over 14 million pounds to help those affected by cancer in York.
On choosing the York & North Yorkshire Chamber charity, Bridget said:
“The York and North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce believes that business is the foundation of local communities. It provides jobs and generates wealth, feeding the economy. Therefore the link between business and charity is crucial in our society, and we are proud to announce that this year we are supporting the 30th anniversary fundraising year of York Against Cancer – who have spent the last three decades working to improve the lives of people living with cancer in York and North Yorkshire.”
The Chamber is proud to support businesses, charities and other key partners across the region. The York & North Yorkshire Chamber is part of the West & North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce, which raises funds for charities through its three annual dinners, plus other activities throughout the year.
