YorkTest named Food Intolerance Testing Company of Year
York-based leading healthcare business YorkTest has been named Food Intolerance Testing Company of The Year at a recent national award.
The company received the accolade, as well as the award for Excellence in Dietary Research & Solutions 2018, in the UK Enterprise Awards.
YorkTest has also been announced as a finalist in the Best Health & Wellbeing and Best Customer Centric Culture (Strategy/Project) categories in the UK Customer Experience Awards.
The company was established in 1982 in York and specialises in food-specific IgG antibody intolerance testing.
Rachel Jansen, CEO at YorkTest, said: “We’re delighted that we have been named Food Intolerance Testing Company of the Year.
“Our customers are at the heart of everything we do, and our staff drives us forward and works hard to ensure our clients get the best, high-quality service possible.
“I’d like to thank every member of my team. This award is for everyone at YorkTest. We thrive on teamwork, innovation and being customer-centric and this award shows the hard work that everyone puts in. I’m thrilled that we have been recognised for that.
“It is an honour to be acknowledged for the continued work that we do in helping improve people’s health. Our mission is to provide exceptional wellness related testing and support services that empower people and businesses to take action to better their quality of life.”
It was announced recently that YorkTest has been shortlisted for the UK Customer Experience Awards. The prestigious scheme is a two-stage process – an application and a presentation. Having been shortlisted after submitting their applications, YorkTest will now start their presentations ready for the awards finals.
The finals and ceremony will take place on one day, on October 11 at Wembley Stadium.
Rachel added: “We’re also extremely pleased to have been nominated for not one but two awards in the UK Customer Experience Awards.
“The journey our customers go on and the experience they receive is paramount to us and shapes everything we do.
“This is why we developed our unique programme of regular communications with our customers from the moment they order their test to their elimination diet and beyond. Our exceptional Customer Engagement Strategy (CES) comprises of supportive one-to-one telephone consultations, emails, text messages and letters.
“As a health and wellness focused business, we saw this as a fantastic opportunity to ensure that all of our customers achieved the maximum benefits from our programmes.
“These regular messages help our customers to successfully stick with their programmes and feel supported, and because of our continuous contact with our customers, they recommend their tests to their families and friends.
“These awards only strengthen our position as the UK’s leading provider of food intolerance testing.”

The results of the YorkTest 2017 customer survey showed that 76% of customers had been suffering with their symptoms for over a year when they came to the company.
The results also revealed that four out of five customers saw improvements in their health after following a YorkTest programme. Out of those who saw improvements, 89% did so within a month and 69% did so within just two weeks.
Rachel added: “We’re extremely proud of our Yorkshire and British heritage. We might be a small company in terms of headcount, however we trade across the globe with dozens of international partners and are growing our workforce, as well as into more global markets.
“We’re looking forward to furthering our growth into international markets and taking the YorkTest name globally.”
