Odsal to become a visual spectacle as Bradford Bulls celebrate Armed Forces Day

Armed Forces Day gives everyone the opportunity to show their support for men and women who make up the Armed Forces community and Bradford Bulls will be doing so in style at their Betfred Championship clash against Halifax on 23rd June.

In partnership with ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, the Club will deliver a fun-filled family event including a special fan-zone in the stadium with a host of activities for kids to enjoy throughout the afternoon.

Over a dozen military units will be in attendance, all of which are based within Yorkshire and recruit from the City of Bradford and its surrounding areas.  They will showcase their Regimental or Battalion roles and equipment such as armoured vehicles, logistic supply vehicles, engineering and various weapon platforms.

The Royal Logistic Corps’ Sky Diving display team will be delivering the match ball to the day’s VIP, Andy Reid MBE, who was severely injured while serving on operations in Afghanistan, and a big gun salute will mark the start of the Bulls v Halifax Championship clash.

There will be bucket collections for ABF and before the men’s teams take to the field, there will be a Bulls Women RL select team v UK Armed Forces Women RL curtain raiser.

Paul Mitchell, Head of Commercial & Community Development at Bulls, said: “Our Armed Forces Day celebrations will deliver a memorable spectacle while at the same time helping to raise funds for ABF The Soldiers Charity.  The day will give the opportunity for all in attendance to show their appreciation and respect for all that the Armed Forces do and have done; from currently serving troops on both home soil and overseas, to Service families, veterans and cadets.

We are offering free admission to the game for all military personnel and veterans attending.  General admission for the game will be just £10 for adults and £5 for children so we encourage Bulls fans and otherwise to come along, cheer on the team and salute our Armed Forces.  Gates open at 12pm.”
