Referrals Success for Employment Hub
Working over seven weeks this summer, Incommunities staff have been promoting the services of the Employment Hub at Summer of Fun events across Bradford. The Hub provides advice and support to those looking for work including job searching, CV and application support, interview techniques and mentoring. All support provided by the Employment Hub is free of charge and, working with teams from Bradford Council, staff were available to meet those attending the events and offer employment support.
The events, ranging from a Literature Festival to Family Fun Days, were designed to bring communities together and to reach out to local residents. The Employment Hub team were on hand to help those out of work or looking to improve their functional skills and to help with building confidence to enable them to move forwards.
Employability Manager Julie Stanworth said “We were delighted to be invited to attend all 42 Summer of Fun events to promote the opportunities that we can offer as part of the Employment Hub. Team members spoke to over 400 people and have received over 120 referrals who would like further help and guidance to enable them to secure employment. We have also been able to connect with key partners across the district and we hope to work with them to promote Employment Hub services going forwards. Thanks to everyone involved in organising the events for inviting us to be part of the Summer of Fun.”
The Employment Hub will be available at the City Run taking place in City Park on the 31st October 2021 and anyone who is interested in finding out more can go along to the event. Alternatively, support can be accessed by calling 01274 257788 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
