Rising Star at established accountants in running for regional award
A team member from Naylor Wintersgill Chartered Accountants headquartered in Bradford city centre has been shortlisted for ‘Rising Star of the Year’ at the 2019 Yorkshire Accountancy Awards.
Emily Bebb started her accountancy career at Naylor Wintersgill in 2011 as part of the firm’s apprenticeship programme. After completing her AAT studies, she went on to qualify as a Chartered Accountant (ACA) and a Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA) in 2017, obtaining one of the highest results in her final ACA exam in the area.
The award category is intended to recognise emerging talent in the region and celebrates those individuals who have made a significant impact on their firm and their colleagues. To be shortlisted, applicants must have shown demonstrable dedication to their clients and a broader contribution to the profession and the local community.
Emily is very generous with her personal time in connection with non-fee earning activities. She has previously been a president of the Bradford Society of Chartered Accountants Student Society (BRADCASS) and is an Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) student council representative.
Emily, alongside 9 of her colleagues, is also volunteering 30 minutes of her time each week during the school year, to help young students in Bradford improve their literacy outcomes through remote reading scheme TutorMate.
Naylor Wintersgill Managing Director Victoria Wainwright said: “Our team is key to the overall success of Naylor Wintersgill and as a firm, we are committed to investing in the on-going professional development of all our colleagues.
As a highly professional and trusted member of our team, it’s been so rewarding to see Emily progress in her accountancy career through our apprenticeship programme. Just making the shortlisted for this award is well deserved recognition for all her hard work and dedication to our firm and our clients.
We are all extremely proud of our ‘home grown’ Emily!”
As an officially appointed training firm of ICAEW, Naylor Wintersgill has offered an apprenticeship programme to grow and develop their workforce of the future for over 25 years.
The awards ceremony takes place on 8th May at New Dock Hall in Leeds.
