Stellar line-up joins Avison Young to bring innovation in property to Leeds

Avison Young is all set to host its ‘Innovation in Property – Understanding the Future’ event on the 6th November, to discuss how the world of property is being shaped by global megatrends, technological innovations and the competition for knowledge and talent.

An impressive line-up of guest speakers will include Dr Nick Axford, global head of research at Avison Young, Professor Liz Towns-Andrews, director of research and enterprise at Huddersfield University, Dr Dave Smith, chief executive of the Sheffield City Region Combined Authority and Local Enterprise Partnership, Angela Barnicle, chief officer for asset management and regeneration at Leeds City Council and Robin Dobson, retail development director at developer, Hammerson.

The event will be hosted by Avison Young’s principal and managing director (Leeds), Claire Paraskeva, with a panel discussion chaired by Stuart Howie, head of regeneration.

Dr Nick Axford will set the scene with a presentation explaining his views of the challenges, opportunities and emerging trends that lie ahead for cities, developers, occupiers, owners and funders.
The panel discussion will then provide guest speakers with the opportunity to share their insights on how they think changes and innovations are being tackled to unlock opportunities across the region.

Claire Paraskeva said: “There is so much happening in and around Yorkshire at the moment, with the arrival of Channel 4 and the Innovation Zone, as well as the Global Innovation Corridor building on the success of the Advanced Manufacturing Park. So, we felt that the time was right to host an event to drill down into what this means for Leeds and the wider city region.

“We are extremely pleased to have such a prestigious panel of innovators speaking at the event, which will be our first since becoming Avison Young.”

The event takes place on Wednesday 6th November at The Everyman Theatre, Leeds, from 3:30pm to 5:30pm. For more information please go to or contact Emma Gilyead at:
