York seminar to provide key employment and GDPR updates

Law firm Andrew Jackson Solicitors LLP will present its popular employment seminar in York later this month, with a special focus on GDPR almost a year after its introduction, particularly in relation to its impact on the management of employees.

Jonathan Dale, partner and head of employment law at Andrew Jackson, said: – “As well as focusing on GDPR, our seminar will provide business owners and HR professionals with the latest key developments in employment law, along with updates on significant new cases. We’ll be taking a closer look at the admissibility of covert recordings by employees in Employment Tribunal proceedings and we’ll assess the practical implications so that businesses can prepare for changes affecting them.

“GDPR law was introduced almost a year ago, so now is an ideal time to take stock and ensure that your business is complying with the raft of changes introduced. This legislation came into force amongst a backdrop of confusion and it is only now that the picture is slightly clearer. As this area of law is evolving constantly it is important that businesses spend time reviewing their working practices.”

The breakfast seminar will take place at Andrew Jackson’s new offices at Foss Islands House, Foss Islands Road, on 21 May 2019. Members of the employment and commercial law teams will be on hand to answer delegates’ questions.

Whilst free to attend, places are limited and may be reserved by emailing events@andrewjackson.co.uk or contacting Rea Cunningham on (01482) 601281.
